How Do I Schedule My Exam?

After your instructor has notified you that he or she will be administering an exam in the Online Testing Center you will need to schedule an appointment.

It is best that you schedule your exam appointment as soon as possible because appointment times fill up quickly. Moreover, the final days that the tests are offered often fill up soon after the test dates have been released.

Failure to schedule an exam early may result in inconvenient times to take the test or waiting for a reserved student to finish before you may take the exam. Students who have a reserved time have priority.

To schedule your exam. You can visit our online scheduler, the Online Testing Center schedules exams on a first come, first serve basis.

Please take your exam at your scheduled time. We often allow students to begin their test before the scheduled time when there are computers available. If you miss your appointment by more than 10 min you no longer have an appointment and you should reschedule your exam appointment. This will ensure that there will be a computer for you. If you are unable to reschedule for any reason, you may walk in if the instructor permits this. However you may need to wait for an open computer.

Students must finish their exam prior to the close of each day. Refer to the Online Testing Center's Current Schedule and Hours of Operation to view opening and closing times. It is the student's responsibility to allot enough time to finish their exam. The lab reserves the right to cancel or postpone any test due to time depletion. The lab also reserves the right to stop a student from beginning a test, this usually occurs at least one hour before the lab closes.

Again, do not wait until the last minute to schedule your exam.

If a student operates an electronic device at any time during an exam, for any reason, the device will be confiscated (for example, if your cell phone rings and you must be reminded to turn it off, the phone will be confiscated).

Only materials authorized by your course instructor will be allowed on the desktop next to the computer you are using. All other materials should be placed on the floor. Do not bring your own scratch paper. Aurthorized scratch paper is provided by the Online Testing center and may be used for any test. You may not write on the scratch paper untill you have begun the exam. If you need a piece of scratch paper, you must give the Proctor you ID in exchange. In addition, any authorized notes used during the exam will be collected by the Proctor.

If you miss your appointment by more than 10 min you no longer have an appointment and must reschedule your exam or come in as a walk in. However some instructors do not allow students to walk in. As a walk in you will have to wait for an avaliable computer. If you walk in during the last few hours exam there is no guarantee that a computer will be avaliable.

Attention!!! Be sure to schedule appointments to take your tests as soon as possible to avoid not getting a spot at a time that is convenient otherwise you will have to pick a less convenient date and time. If you are unable to schedule an exam is it because all the reserve slots are full. This does not mean that there is not room available for walk-ins. You can take the exam as a walk in if walk ins are approved by the instructor. There will be less or no waiting time in the morning, however afternoons and evenings are much more busy. Wednesdays and Friday are very busy days especially in the late afternoon. Taking an exam as a walk in should be an exception, it is important to make an appointment. Finals will be available to schedule at the end of the 8th week of classes
