Online Ordering System

You can use the Online Ordering System to order a variety of media and technology services and projects and to track the status of your request. Please note, however, that you cannot use the Online Ordering System to request such things as data projectors, VCRs, or digital cameras; to request such equipment, please call extension 3286.

 NOTE: Fees are charged for some of the products and services listed below. The Academic Technologies staff member assigned to your project will discuss with you any fees related to the project. Read more about the Online Ordering System . . .

Blackboard Online Instruction -  Assistance with designing/organizing your Blackboard course site and converting existing materials for use on your site

• Create a Test, Quiz, or Survey
  Creating online testing or online surveys within Blackboard
  
  
• Course Site Design Consulting
  Consulting on the organization and design of your Blackboard course site
  
  
• Prepare Existing Teaching Materials for Blackboard
  Conversion of existing word-processed documents or PowerPoint presentations to HTML, PDF, or other format suitable for downloading or display on the web. NOTE: The quality of converted materials will be optimized for online use and may not be suitable for other uses.
  
  

Graphics and Classroom Presentation Media -  Graphic design and production for web sites, classroom presentations, and other teaching and learning applications, and production of other materials for use in the classroom. NOTE: The quality of graphics and photographs will be optimized for a particular use (e.g., a web site or a PowerPoint presentation) and may not be suitable for other uses.

• Create PowerPoint Presentations
  Creation of PowerPoint presentations or slides for use in class or display on the web
  
  
• Scanning
  Photos, illustrations, 35-mm slides, or text for use in Blackboard courses or Power Point (or other presentation software). NOTE: All scanning must comply with the Academic Technologies "Policy on Scanning Copyrighted Materials."
  
  
• Digital Photography
  Shooting and processing photographs for presentation in class or display on the web
  
  
• Traditional Presentation Materials
  Traditional presentation materials include overhead transparencies, 35-mm slides, and visual aids mounted on foam core.
  
  
• Graphic Design and Production
  Basic graphic design of materials for Blackboard course sites or other web pages, instructional diagrams, handouts, and classroom presentations
  
  

Audio-Video (AV) Production -  Recording, filming, capture, editing, and production of audio and video projects for web delivery, CD or DVD, tape, or television broadcast

• Video Production and/or Filming for Tape, CD/DVD, Internet, or Broadcast
  Pre-production, production, replication, and distribution of simple to complex videos, from web video to CD/DVD to broadcast quality recording. Video streaming from university servers must adhere to Boise State policy and must follow Boise State guidelines for content and quality. All streaming-video projects must be approved before being produced.
  
  
• Audio and/or Video Narrated Lectures
  Recording and production of audio- or video-narrated PowerPoint presentations or screen recordings, such as mini-lectures for use in Blackboard courses, enhanced podcasts, or other playback on the web.
  
  
• Record and/or Edit Audio for Classroom, CD, or Web Delivery
  Recording and/or editing audio recordings, such as music or speech, for playback in the classroom, on CD, or on the web
  
  

Web and Interactive Resource Development -  Design and development of academic and instructional web pages, database applications, and interactive, multimedia teaching resources

• Interactive Multimedia Teaching Materials
  Design and development of computer- or web-based instructional materials that incorporate interactivity and/or a variety of media
  
  
• Instructional Web Pages or Database-Driven Web Applications
  Design and development of instructional/academic web pages or applications that will be used outside of, or in addition to, Blackboard
  
  

Telecommunications -  Video/teleconferencing and assistance with various other telecommunications technologies for academic purposes

• Satellite Downlinks for Teleconferences
  Video teleconferences received from satellite
  
  
• Two-Way Videoconferencing
  From on-campus to another location equipped with videoconferencing equipment
  
  
• Polycom Speaker Phone Use
  For one-time use only. Contact the Office of Information Technology for long-term use of speaker-phone equipment.
  
  
• Develop Knowledge Network Course for Local Cable TV
  Note: Such courses must be approved by your academic department and by Extended Studies.
  
  

Training and Consulting -  Consulting on instructional design and student media assignments, research, and in-class digital projects software demonstrations and tutorials

• Instructional Design Consulting
  Consulting on instructional strategies, methods, and ideas for teaching online, hybrid, or face-to-face courses
  
  
• Online Research
  Internet-based research for retrieving websites and links to other resources
  
  
• Digital Projects Software Training
  Individualized faculty training in the use of software used to create instructional materials and training for student groups on software for digital projects
  
  
• Technical Documentation
  Design and development of documentation related to technology, including job aids for using particular equipment and instructions for students given assignments involving technology
  
  
• Consulting on Student Media Assignments
  Consultation on creating and managing student projects that include a media component, such as web pages, PowerPoint presentations, and digital video,including assistance with software selection
