There was an issue with the process which synchronizes data from the student information system to Blackboard. Specifically, the file used to synchronize user account information was accidentally truncated. While there are sanity checks performed on that file to ensure that an empty file is not accidentally processed, that check did not catch this problem. That sanity check has been updated to better identify a problem of this magnitude in the future. The good news is that no data was lost. Once the accounts were reenabled all grade and other information reappeared within the courses.
