Academic Technologies

Boise State

In this seminar, Dr. Roger Munger, English, discussed ways to promote collaboration in an online or Internet-supported course, described advantages and disadvantages of collaboration methods, and provided links to online collaboration resources. The seminar was aimed at helping participants understand how online technologies are changing how faculty teach and how students learn collaboration skills valued in the workplace. The seminar was also designed to leave participants not only with a better understanding of collaboration but also with the resources necessary to successfully promote collaboration in your online and Internet-supported courses.

The PowerPoint slides used during the seminar are reproduced here. Also reproduced here is a handout listing additional resources for developing strategies to promote online collaboration. The handout is available as a Word document (.RTF) or as a .PDF file (requires Adobe Acrobat).
