Capacity: 25 Seats Left: 24 |
| Facilitator: | Roger Munger | |
| Description: | Issues related to sustainability are increasingly becoming the focus of campus curriculum. Such curriculum not only provides fertile new research and service-learning opportunities but also offers universities another way to attract and retain top students. Roger Munger, Department of English, will share his research on how BSU and other universities are using service-learning to promote a socially-just and environmentally-sustainable society. We will discuss how this sustainability trend is affecting curriculum, academic culture, community partnerships, and scholarship opportunities. Specific examples of sustainability-inspired courses will be presented. |
