| Title: | Pedagogical Podcasting: Beyond the Recorded Lecture |
Capacity: 10 Seats Left: 7 |
| Facilitator: | Eric Orton | |
| Description: | With the university's new podcasting service -- Boise State on iTunes U -- faculty can provide audio podcasts that students can download to their personal computers or MP3 players. This workshop focuses not on HOW to create a podcast, but WHY. Exploring how audio can be a significant aid to learning, particularly with repeated exposure, the workshop introduces participants to examples of pedagogical podcasting, including using podcasts to foster language acquisition, the teaching of phonics, the identification of normal and abnormal heart beats, and more. In addition, the workshop explores ways in which podcasting can contribute to the learning process, focusing on what forms and applications of podcasting best suit particular learning activities, learning objectives, and learning styles. |
