Remove a batch of files from the Digital Drop Box at one time

The Blackboard digital drop box can get full and in Blackboard there is no mechanism to selectively delete several digital drop box items at one time.  The following bookmarklet will accomplish a couple of things:

• Opens a new window with a listing of your digital drop box files in reverse order, with a limit of 30
• Allows you to select those digital drop box files you wish to delete.  A script cycles through those you've checked and calls the page that deletes them, with a 10 second delay between each.

Instructions:

1. Drag the "Remove Items from Drop box" link (below) to your favorites/bookmarks/links.

2. Open the coursesite in Blackboard that you would like to access

3. Click on the control panel->digital drop box 

4. While at the digital drop box page, select/open the "Remove Items From Drop Box" from your favorites/bookmarks/links
5. Check mark the files you would like to remove (NOTE: this program will not work if the file name contains an underscore)
6. Click "Remove"

Prevent timing-out during a quiz while connecting from off campus

Some Internet service providers will automatically disconnect service after a certain period of inactivity. This can cause problems for students that are taking a quiz/assessment from home that takes longer than the ISP provider's preset connection time. This can be resolved by opening a floater window behind the test window that automatically refreshes every few minutes.

Instructions:

1. Open the appropriate Assessment/Quiz in Blackboard... 
   Control Panel -> Assessment Manager -> Modify

2. Click the Modify Button for the first question in the Quiz.

3. Put the following code in the Question Text box of the first question:

  <script language=javascript src=/bin/stayalive/quiz.asp></script>
 

4. Click the Preview button to submit your changes.

Prevent printing and copying of a quiz

At default, an Assessment/Quiz can be printed from the browser window.  To prevent this from happening, please follow the instructions on our No Print/No Copy page.
